Member Spotlight - Jordan
Jordan King is a Texas native who has spent most of her life in Houston. At just 27 years old, her passion for aviation has led her to earn her CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings. She sees it as a true privilege to instruct the next generation of pilots and help others achieve their dreams of flight.
Her love of flying is matched only by her passion for history. Jordan is an active historical war reenactor and is also involved in recovering and preserving historical memorabilia for museum exhibits. As she puts it, “I appreciate the entire team’s dedication to preserving the museum’s artifacts and vehicles, because who are we if we forget our past?”
Jordan’s connection to aviation began at a young age when she spotted a large orange helicopter on the ramp at Ellington and became fascinated by the way its blades folded. One pilot invited her over to take a closer look, and from that moment on, she was hooked.
For the past five years, Jordan has volunteered at the museum, contributing more than 3,000 hours to community outreach, museum tours, and aircraft maintenance. She is currently digitizing a combined 354 years’ worth of historical aircraft records, helping ensure that the stories, achievements, and legacy of these aircraft are preserved for future generations.
